Have a one year old new boat and getting some yellowing on the non skid.

    Possibly mold release ?

What is the best non aggressive way to address ?

Thanks so much for the insight !!!

    It's not mold release.

Non skid areas tend to be flooded with gel coat and thick gel coat weathers poorly. Styrene tends to build up at the mold surface side of the gel coat when it's applied too thick. Styrene is the main ingredient in gel coat that turns yellow.

What type of non skid texture is it?

The only method is to remove the styrene layer, but thats difficult on most types of non skid. On non aggressive non skid sometimes you can buff it and not lose much texture. If you scrub it with a very coarse compound by hand it may help a little.
