The hard-working safety crew were
glad that their weekend consisted
mainly of keeping pleasure boats off
the course and towing boats that
ran short of fuel mileage.
 
Those who think 'Spring Training' is just
a witty moniker thought up by some
clever marketing expert need to

closest to guessing the correct
weight of the UL-51.
 
John O'Brien, along with Ken Eng
stayed busy giving kids of all ages
hydroplane 'rides' (they'd shake the
trailered boat and make motor
noises...), insuring that the sport
gains a new generation of fans
and participants.

The E/NM-4 - This is Rookie Bryan Richards. The boat was formally a NM owned by  UL driver Wayne Howard
and Donnie Graham. They were the 2nd fastest boat in the region behind Terry Troxell in the NM-34 Stinger.

This is the "Dream Weaver" owned
and driven by John Weaver.
 
This is Wally Johnson's boat. He drove the UL-19 the first
season the team from Idaho raced.
 

These teams were joined by a few others, but Alan didn't have a chance to shoot them during the very busy event.
