The hard-working
safety crew were
glad that their weekend consisted
mainly of keeping pleasure boats off
the course and towing boats that
ran short of fuel mileage.
|
Those who think
'Spring Training' is just
a witty moniker thought up by some
clever marketing expert need to
check out this shot of rescue diver
Nick Ehli putting the crews through
his version of boot camp. Looks
like he's achieving varying degrees
of success...

member, Bill Thompson won a bottle
of Powers Wine, donated by the
Badger Mountain Winery, for coming
closest to guessing the correct
weight of the UL-51.
|
John
O'Brien, along with Ken Eng
stayed busy giving kids of all ages
hydroplane 'rides' (they'd shake the
trailered boat and make motor
noises...), insuring that the sport
gains a new generation of fans
and participants.

Frauenheim shows everyone

The
E/NM-4 - This is Rookie Bryan Richards. The boat was formally a NM owned
by UL driver Wayne Howard
and Donnie Graham. They were the 2nd fastest boat in the region
behind Terry Troxell in the NM-34 Stinger.

This
is Wally Johnson's boat. He drove the UL-19 the first
season the team from Idaho raced.
|
These teams were joined by a few
others, but Alan didn't have a chance to shoot them during the very busy event.
Each of the teams has our thanks for supporting Spring Training!
