    There are not many resources the authorities on Sable Island, or Nova Scotia for that matter, have to perform forensic analysis on the bodies and inflatable boat of the non-citizens.
    This is not a criticism, merely an observation.

    The couple likely died of dehydration…not absolutely, but probably. They did autopsies long ago. It is unlikely they don’t know cause of death, but the RCMP might be waiting to see if the vessel or pieces ever float ashore as part of a broader review.

    In Canada, I believe they have stricter reviews on vessels than here in the US, so there is also a chance there are liability issues at play and thus the government is not in a rush due to uncertainty about the demise of vessel.

    One person speculated the Theros was well past the container ship when their AIS paths crossed.
