Chine Location

    The chine height alone is not important. How it relates to the rest of the design is. The displacement of the boat would change the chine height with respect to the waterline.

    I don't quite understand why. Would a further explanation be possible?
    If we are, as I suppose, in the conceptual design phase of the boat, I don't understand such a direct dependence between displacement and chine height.
