Doug
Waller, best friend and long time racing associate of George Woods and
formerly with the UL-72, UL-51 and G-13 teams, passed away recently. Doug
was avid member of the racing fraternity for several decades. Whenever and
whatever George raced, whether it was cars, boats, snowmobiles, etc. Doug
Waller was a key member of the crew.
He worked with his brother Dave at Ski Dog
Sports selling high performance ski boats in Auburn WA. He and his wife
Sharon raised their family in their home on Lake Tapps where they resided
since the 70's.
George Woods says "Waller was a bodybuilder, and
retired from the Federal Way Fire Department where was was a firefighter and
paramedic. He also volunteered as a rescue diver for Seafair and other
events in the 80's. He worked on my race car teams, and race boat teams,
and our families even vacationed together. We were very close". Woods added
that Waller was an easy going guy and great to be around as the ULHRA family
came to know. This past season Waller worked on the 4 cylinder stock LTL
team of Robby Dahlquist.
