back on the Mohave Unlimited Hydrofest... Lake Havasu was rather tough on our boats and we sustained hull damage to the UL 110, UL 23 and UL 15, while UL 17 blew a motor (valve). The very good news is that UL 110 was able to repair their boat in time to run. Also the UL 49 and Steve Hook received great assistance from other camps to manage a better showing with each heat. Jerry Hopp and the UL 15 also had some problems with their truck, but were able to begin racking up National High Points. The Bridgemans report that they were able to diagnose an old problem during Lake Havasu and are ready to run at Tastin' n Racin' . We saw some fine competition, and Phil Bononcini and team won their first ever race. Dick and Shirley Sanders are anxiously awaiting their Ron Jones, Sr. delivery and Chip Reiter is hoping to join us at San Diego. So----all in all, it was a weekend. Our teams stayed at the River Palms Casino and really enjoyed the nice rooms, inexpensive and very good food and had fun in the casino as well. Yes, it was hot, but some forgot that as the Playboy gals passed by in the Pits. They are a new sponsor for the UHRA and welcomed by all. I salute all the teams who made the effort to come to Lake Havasu, and
I look to greeting even more at Tastin' N Racin' next weekend." More Sponsor's For

Speaking with Denny Jackson, we've learned that the former UL-33 was recently sold and the hull the team plans to race is the former Kat-N-Nan hull. The team is preparing to add a new canopy and air system so the hull will comply with current UL specifications. The team hopes to test before driver Denny Jackson leaves for Europe. Denny works as a teacher in Vevay, Indiana, Switzerland County High School and takes a group of kids on a European tour annually. Commenting on his recent chance to return to racing, Denny told us, "I didn't realize how much I missed it." Denny also credited UHRA historian Fred Farley with uniting the team with their new sponsor. Further plans beyond Madison are uncertain at this time, but we wish
the team well as they prepare to get out on the water again this year. Transcripts from the recent WORX show are

Be sure to pick up a copy of the May, 2000 issue of Powerboat Magazine! There's a two page photo of Bob Larimore's UL-23 Pegasus that is simply amazing. The boat is completely up out of the water on a hop with a wall of spray filling the background. It's an amazing shot. The boat is perfectly flat above the water. The photo was taken by F. Pierce Williams in the "Roostertail Turn" at Detroit during the 1999 race. (Page 16-17 under the section title - "Hot Shot") Also, starting on page 92 there's a five page Unlimited Preview for
the 2000 season. Toward the end of the Preview, the Unlimited Lights

the team titles. Both Bo Schide (UL-16
Alamo) and Charley Wiggins (UL-10 Earl's Perforamce
