colinhilton: Division of Parts
A draft guide to the use of stock material for construction of an 8' catamaran for test purposes. Sheet and timber DIY material tends to retail throughout the world in imperial measure, or the closest metric equivalent. The plan therefore calls for a unitary outline which can be assembled from spars and insulation foam of three-quarter inch (20mm) section or thickness. Projects featured on YouTube use insulation foam extensively for rapid prototyping and the plans here provide a basis for broader participation in testing such platforms with electrical motors along with aero-propellers. Initial testing will be pursued with the optional rails fore and aft removed and motors fitted directly to the tail-end of each pontoon where the upper panel-edges terminate.
