I have a spline weight mold. Cast Iron and in perfect shape. I believe they may have come from Sparkman & Stephens back in the day since they once belong to Bill Shaw (S&S / Pearson Yachts). I would like to sell them. I thought that I could find someone here who would would be interested. If anyone knows of another place to sell these, I'd like to know.

    Welcome to the Forum Cam.

Are you selling a single mould (singular), or a number of different moulds (re how 'they' once belonged to Bill Shaw)?

I think that if you make a few more posts on here, then you should be able to add a photo or two of what you are selling?

Thanks for the reply....The Mold is actually a split mold, so there are 2 halves. They have a hole for positioning the spline "hook" and there are centering pins to locate the 2 halves.
There is a sprue hole in the top for pouring the casting metal.

I worked at Pearson, in the design office, during the day when they were building lots of boats before they closed the doors. As they were liquidating I found them on a shelf in the design department.

I was interested to learn that the 'duck' form was a traditional shape for weights going back to Mesopotamia.[IMG]

Cam, how big is each half of the mold - length x width x depth?

That is a nice-looking mold. If all else fails that style weight can be done with a handmade plug in a sand mold.
