S-81Meyers’ Auto Tech 2.5 Stock Hydroplane

This is a complete, race ready package that is currently campaigning in Region 10.  This boat finished 3^rd nationally in 2009 and is the 2009 Western Divisional Champion.  In 2010 it has broken world records in three of its first four times on the water on both the 1.25 mile and 1 mile courses.  Over the past three seasons the hull has been modified and improved each offseason, with fresh paint applied this past winter.  I cannot possibly list everything included, but as I mentioned already it is a complete, fresh, fast, and running package.

·        Hull – 2000 Auld/Henderson, sponsons/airtrap modified by Lee Robertson 2008/2009.  New, lighter canard by Robertson/Jensen, moved forward with articulation hardware by Gary Jensen.  New this season; control cables, wiring harness, switches, starter, battery, paint, skid fin, props,etc.

·        Engines – two complete 2.3 Fords – the motor in the boat now is fresh, with 4 heat races run as of 7/12/10.  The second engine is being machined now and will be completed for the buyer.  The new engine was planned for the record course in Yelm next season and has the best of everything I’ve learned.  Two race ready identical record-capable cylinder heads, another complete head of slightly different design that has not been on the dyno, several unworked spares.  A third, fully machined engine block is also included although it is not the style block that I prefer, which is why I am preparing another now.  I build the engines and heads myself, with all modifications and settings documented.  Everything I have and know goes to the buyer.

·        Exhaust – Stainless header.. my design, plus a schoenfeld, another by unknown builder, several zoomies of various diameters/lengths.

·       Trailer – custom built, electronic/hydraulic tilt.  Ram is new, tires are excellent, wheel bearings are new.  Trailer is licensed.

·        Generator –

·        Propellers – three included.  The specifics I’ll keep to myself and the buyer.  All were originally Titus, but have been highly modified from there.

·        Spare parts galore -  Heads, couplers, rods (several sets – inside joke… ask me about it), headers, pistons, coupler chain, pump impellers, prop shaft, starter, canard, skid fins, battery, gas cans, etc, etc, everything needed for a serious racing campaign.

Nothing is being held back… this is not a “basic” deal where you get a worn hull, a prop that nobody wants, and nothing more.  This is a complete deal ready to run a full season and beyond.  Most everything is new or in excellent condition.  The only thing that I know of that must be renewed for next season will be the driver harness.  $26,000 takes everything.  Please call or email me with any questions you might have.

Here is a list of questions with the answers following.

Where is the boat located? at my home in Easton NH (03580).

What is the size of the capsule? I am 5'8", 165 but the previous owner was 6' and around 200. It is a bergeron capsule which is

 known for being roomy.

What condition is the boat in? Please list any damage? Overall good condition, repainted 2 years ago.

When was the boat last raced? September of 2008 (out of money in 2009)

What have been your results over the last few years? I entered boat racing after being out for over 20 years, I worked out of pocket and had limited funds. My results weren't the best but we gained ground over the short time I was able to race.

Who were the previous owner(s)? Mike movinski (sp?) from Detroit MI is who I bought it from. I believe he was the second owner but I don't know the name of the first owner.

Has the boat ever been sunk or flipped? Not to my knowledge, it is a good safe boat, not too flighty and runs flat.

When did the capsule get installed? When the boat was built in 1999

How long has this boat been up for sale? I listed it 3 months ago.

Is the boat garaged? It was in a pole barn for the winter the engine was in a heated shop and now they are at my home.

Why is the boat for sale? Moving cross country

What other items will be sold with the boat? The covers come with it (capsule, sponson, rudder, skid fin, and deck pads) spare engine parts (whatever I have... pistons, carburetors, etc...) Boat, motor, trailer, and anything I have that goes with it.

E-25   2006 Jones 5 Liter Hydroplane

This deal includes boat, trailer, one engine as well as four props. Other engine and equipment are available for separate purchase. There is much more than can be listed here. All can be purchased as a package deal as well.

The engine that is currently in the boat is brand new and has only been run on a break-in stand. It ran beautifully! The second engine has been run in three races since being freshened up. Both engines have new ignitions and are complete with zoomies, fuel pumps and engine mounts plates. Take your pick!

This unique hydroplane was made by Ron Jones Jr of CLS Inc and constructed of all honey-comb carbon fiber. I have worked with Mark Evans over the last 3 years developing the boat to be a front-runner. Two skid fins will be included in the package; one for short-course and one for long-course set up. The adjustable prop strut lets you adjust the prop 1” in and out as well as ¾” up and down. I have just installed a brand new strut bracket on the transom.

The trailer has 3 lockable storage boxes. One holds the brand new hydraulic pump with remote switch. The other two are set up to hold all props, driving gear, air bottles, tools and accessories for easy access at the race site. Has a pull out step with stairs on the right side of the trailer for convenient access while the crew is working on the boat. I just put brand new spun aluminum wheels with new tires on. All trailer lights have been updated to LED lights.
