Lighter than LIGHTS is a series created by
ULHRA, Inc. for hydroplanes that are smaller, and yes lighter than
Unlimited Lights. Presently the Lighter than LIGHTS (LTL) series
competes in Washington State and involves 2 classes of hydroplanes; 4
cylinder stock, and 8 cylinder stock. There is potential to
add more classes in the LTL program in the future.
The Lighter than LIGHTS program was
launched in 2003 and was begun with the idea that it could lead to
more teams growing into Unlimited Lights racing programs. That idea
has become reality and is one of many reasons why ULHRA, Inc. is the
fastest growing hydroplane racing organization in North America.
